46. to 48.Day - Arriving in Mui Ne and Nha Trang
Promptly at 9 o'clock we were sitting in the bus to Mui Ne, according to the Lonely Planet of the most beautiful stretch of beach across Vietnam. Then we can surprise us again. Since I was accustomed to Thai waters, I rather expected something worse, standing at my presumption also true. The sight of the sea is very beautiful, but the water is not nearly as clear and the beach and the sand and not as clean and beautiful as to Thailand's beaches. For this, we smell, more than 40 kite surfers in their sports. The sky was so full of great dragon, which gave the users the necessary speed on the water. But before we had the benefit of all that we had once organsieren a place to stay and was not that simple. added to our search, also born in Bremen and is currently in Hong Kong connected living Eve. Together, we have then after a few hundred meters below the burning heat finally found a nice apartment complex where Moritz and I've taken about 8 € for a double room. After standing at the obligatory visit to the beach. In the evening we were expecting a nice atmosphere with the many surfers, but Mui Ne has died after 21h as. Most of the luxury resort and spa facilities keeps the visitors in their own ranks and can empty the bars and restaurants. So we had no choice but to plan for tomorrow even as the parting of Mui Ne and the travel agency to book our train tickets to Nha Trang (300km north). And while we're already in the travel agency were, we have also booked a tour dunes for sunrise, where we also Eva again has accompanied, but the name was again up at 4 am and drive off with the jeep. A quarter past five we have then reached our first stop, the white dunes and had to enjoy more than an hour the sun and sitting on plastic surfaces to slide down the dunes. Next, we saw the red dunes that were closed to entry but, unfortunately, but we could but then on the yellow sand dunes, which impressed us with their three young Vietnamese girl of German. Previously, there was finally a first breakfast, after all it was about 7 AM. But two stages have been lacking on this trip yet. A visit to a fishing village and a country section, which is difficult to capture in one word. I'll try to describe. Starting with red sand dunes, which mixes some with yellow and white sand, leads a small stream next to rocky hills and past green plantations. A real treat for the eyes and so far one of the highlights of the trip. Really breathtaking. But images can speak louder than words. To 16.30 we take the same train to Nha Trang, where they will hopefully be more beautiful scenes for us.
our train tickets to Nha Trang we had already bought the night before. The Vietnamese are trying at every opportunity to earn some extra money and develop the most absurd theories. Thus also in our ticket. The ticket price 110 000 Dong costs, but the staff at the travel agency would have the ticket for each 210,000. Of course we have asked why? Well, he said. He has to hire someone who collects the tickets for us from the train and would indeed be paid. Ah ok, travel expenses to and from the station. That makes sense. As expensive as the travel expenses we wanted to know then. 100 000 Dong he said. Ok, then why must pay each of us 100 000 extra if the driver gets only one time 100,000. Suddenly, it means then that the driver takes per ticket 100,000. So if he goes to the station and pick up an envelope with 10 tickets, then he gets ten times 100,000. Certainly ???!!! As we very quickly became clear, that you want to cheat us and gain more of their own pockets. The problem is that you do not negotiate in the situation, because process all travel agencies on the same principle. And without the travel office, there are no tickets, unless you drive yourself to the station and gets the ticket there. Since the station but was 35km away, the would not have been worth it. Furthermore, we have been told yet that we are organizing a taxi to the station and we then also have to pay but themselves. To our advantage was also wants a pair to the station, so that we can share the taxi cost by four. This sounds for a change of times very good and honest. No way! The next morning the Big Boss probably noticed that we were made this proposal and immediately turned the tables. Suddenly it is the taxi fare is per person 100 000 Dong. The night before we were even called a total price of about 200,000. Again, we were powerless. Because if we had taken another taxi, then we would go together and that would be more expensive than 100.00o become apiece. A rather unfriendly situation, which has shown not just on good hospitality. Well, whatever, for us was that no large amounts, but sometimes it's all about the principle.
The train ride went very well and we arrived about half past nine in Nha Trang, and have let us go to a recommended hotel and immediately checked.
Nha Trang has a 4 km long beach promenade and many bars and restaurants in the area. It had definitely alive than Mui Ne, we have also noticed soon after the dinner. In the opposite Red Apple Bar had gathered quite a lot of backpackers. Loud music from Thailand and the already known Buckets have fueled the mood somewhat. Most people came from Great Britain or Australia, and probably made a pretty closed impression so that Moritz and I were rather at the edge and watched the action from outside. As Moritz travel plans have changed slightly, it was our last night together, because the next day I returned to Saigon and he wanted to continue his journey to the north of Vietnam. Also it will only go to Bangkok later, so that he can be there also, unfortunately, not my birthday. As we have noted that people in the bar do not fit completely to us, we decided to walk around the block and look for more spots. Apart from the Sailing Club right on the promenade, there was not really much action, so we first went back to the Red Apple. But then there also thinned the crowds and we have noticed that all go to the Sailing Club, we decided also to take a look at there past. One and a half hours later there was suddenly all deserted and we were told that now all are gone to the Bar WhyNot. And so it was. Back and forth quite a bit so that not only was stressful, but also the time had passed very quickly. The next day we had that is registered for the tour and Iceland should already start at 8.30am. Not exactly the best way at 6am to go to bed first, and three hours later on the boat to the four islands sit. But we are small tumbler and so looked at the first jump into the sea the world already different. The program on the Iceland tour was quite nice, but the islands were not such a hit. We usually have only kept off the islands and could snorkel without really what to see, or had to pay an entrance fee to even get up on the island. Included in the price, however, was a varied buffet lunch and fruit. If you liked on the last island before a visit to the famous aquarium Vietnam could pay. We have dispensed with thanks, and we preferred to rest on beach chairs.
After the last dinner with Maurice, I made my way to the station from Nha Trang to take against 21.45Uhr the night train to Saigon. Since I was a bit early, I could sit in the little waiting room and wait for the arrival of the train calmed. Here I met three guys from the U.S. who go to Singapore in time to the university. Since they have never been to Saigon were, I could give them some good tips. But not only there but also for Thailand, the week after because they wanted to Koh Phangan and Koh Phi Phi, where I was recently. Our berths were indeed close to each other, but not really together, so we had to postpone our discussion to the arrival in Saigon.
